It is completely appropriate to interview a mediator or other professional in the way you would anyone else applying for an important job.

What education and training do you have in dispute resolution?

How long have you been working in the field?

Do you have experience in my type of dispute?

How do you describe your style or approach to dispute resolution?

What do you charge? How and when do you expect payment?
